These tagua animals are hand carved from a single tagua seed by skilled artisan makers who live in coastal regions of Ecuador, where Tagua carving supports 90 families, who have formed a co-operative providing much needed income for the local community. 

Tagua is the seed of the tagua palm tree that grows in the South American rainforest and is an amazing natural and sustainable alternative to plastic.
